Philosophy

From interior design to Jewelry design,my usual design process involves first contemplating the design theme, sketching various possible forms on paper, and finally selecting the object’s appearance that best fits my expectations. I have always been accustomed to this design method.

However, when I came into contact with clay as a medium, it offered me a very different design experience. Often, during the process of shaping or molding clay, I gain many inspirations that i cannot achieve through pen and paper alone. Therefore, I changed my design habits, directly engaging with clay, playing with it, and through repeated negations, changes, and failures, the desired appearance of the object naturally emerges. This is a wonderfully magical handmade experience that made me fall in love with clay.

Over the years, I gradually shifted to handmade ceramics. As I delved deeper and longer into ceramics, I discovered its rich possibilities and exploratory nature, which led me to immerse myself in the clay world.

I am from Taiwan and have briefly lived in Paris, France. Currently I reside in Chino Hills, California. I live with cats, work on clay, in a simple, country lifestyle.
